USA - England Damaged by sea water Outside my knowledge area so offered as seen Valvoline Oil Company, New York - printed envelope Stamp missing cancelled at new York dated the 24 February 1917 Black handstamp 'DAMAGED BY SEA WATER' applied below the cancellation White label sealing the rear flaps. Where the envelope has been opened along the top, and due to the water damage, the flaps are no longer sealed - but envelope is still intact due to the label holding the top part to the rest. A neat period cover that will display nicely Sold June 2008 |
