How Can You Help with this Web-Site

Thank you for taking the time to check this link.

As you look through this site, you will find areas that are not yet finished. This is intentional as it was felt better to make some information available on a given subject matter rather than none, waiting until sections were completed. The problem with the later approach is that as reseach develops, so ideas and information change, thus some areas of study may never be finished, and thus many collectors would be limited to the imformation available.

The approach we have taken, to make the information available, even though not completted, also has its draw-backs. The main one being the time needed to update the site as new material is added. This was starting to present a major that should be solved by the change to Philatelic Web. The real problem comes with access to the material needed to finish sections of the site and some of those with which you can help are detailed below.

The list presented here is not exclusive, and if there are other areas that you can add material to then please forward the details via email (link on the home page) and we will add them in or set up a new sections as required.

The sections that require additional help are ...

  1. The Penny Black Plater
A number of pictures are required for the missing impressions.

  2. The Two Pence Blue Plater
Again, a number of pictures are required

  3. The Encyclopedia
An images to go with the sections already in place or new items that should be added

  4. Magazine articles
If you want it included, just scan the pages and send it in ... we will add it and make all the references from the index

  5. The Postmark Database
As far as we are aware, all the Victorian place names are now entered into the database. However we need illustrations of these cancelations and the space dedicated to this means that now we can cater for all British postmarks from any period.

  6. Collections
If you want you collection, (or a section), on Permanent display then scan the pages and send them in. (300dpi prefered)

Any other areas that spring to mind, (no matter how silly they may seem), just drop us a line and we will do all we can to make it happen. Remember "the only silly questions are the ones we don't ask". All things are possible with a little co-operation so together we can make a difference to the hobby
