can be at emailed from here.) Items of special intrest are black stamps where only red printings are illustrated, (and visa versa), as well as examples which
show diffrent cancellations to those illustrated, (either a diffrent type or colour).
In addition to the general issue of the Penny Black Postage stamps on the 1st May 1840, (avalible for use by the public from the 6th May), a special printing
was made of the stamps for official use by covernment departments. These can easily be identified by the addition of the letters V and R in the top corners
replaceing the stars.
